Two things can be true: the death of Jordan Neely is a most regrettable tragedy and Daniel Penny is a bonafide hero who faced a very difficult circumstance and performed with distinction and bravery. He has my profound thanks and admiration.
It is not surprising the family of Jordan Neely has already made it known they will seek civil compensation against Daniel Penny. That is wholly indicative of the deplorable socieuty in which we live and breath. Where was Jordan Neely’s family as he repeatedly had incident after incident where he displayed pyschotic behavior?
Trust me, I can only imagine the difficulty of dealing with a mentally challenged family member but Jordan Neely presented a clear and present danger to the passengers on that train that fateful day.
Where are the calls from NYC Mayor Eric Adams to the family for their inability to get Neely the care he so clearly desperately needed. Why was Neely allowed to roam in public and boast he was not afraid of the police on the train that day?
Why should the truly innocent passengers on that train be held captive to someone with no regard for public safety. Why was Penny even indicted in the first place?
I would submit Daniel Penny was indicted for one sole reason and it was because he killed an African American.
Ironically, America has lived on the far extreme of the moral spectrum concerning African American life. There was a time, not all that long ago, where people felt the total freedom to pose beside a lynched African American male. I literally have seen pictures of gleefully smiling Caucasian youth with the biggest grins on their faces, as if they had just caught the biggest fish and they were so proud standing right next to an African American male who was just lynched.
While I will never hold the Caucasian youth culpable their parents and cultural influencers will bear my free wrath and scorn. It is inconceivable that anyone who would pass on their abject disregard for life created in the Imago Dei were true followers of Jesus Christ but I will leave that adjudication to God Almighty.
Tragically, our society continues to allow Satan to play us for fools. People in power, like the District Attorney who sought the charges, pander to racial reckoning to gain sway from the secular elites.
What would you have done as you were underground with an adult male exhibiting hostility with no police available to intervene?
Would you have cowered and just wished for the best?
As a full bloodied male I pray I would done just what Daniel Penny did!
The death of Jordan Neely is most regrettable, especially if he died without Jesus Christ, but I push back against laying any scorn or backlash to Daniel Penny.
We need more Daniel Pennys in this fallen and increasingly morally depraved world and we need people who have family members like Jordan Neely to take accountability and get them the help they need and not use a tragedy like this to attempt to profit financially.
Shame on Mayor Eric Adams! He is not serving the people of NYC but he is a Democrat and I hold not real expectation he would be a clear, moral thinker.
He, like all Democrats, are doing the bidding of their father, the Devil and I am not attempting to use hyperbole. Any Democrat on Planet Earth today is an expressed Emissary of the Adversary. The Adversary wants to stir racial disharmony and use tragic events like this to sow discord and mayhem.
Shame on the District Attorney who unwisely chose to prosecute in the first place.
Kudos to the jury, who even after the DA dropped the more serious charges (and the conventional wisdom was that would give the jury an easy out), for making the correct decision and finding Daniel Penny innocent of all charges.
Kudos to Daniel Penny for being courageous enough to act and letting the consequences be damned.
As usual, let me know what you think. Until then, keep your hands to the plow and seek to serve for an Audience of One.
With profound fear and trembling,
Ricky Verndale Kyles Sr. DEd.Min
